NJIT Excellence in Teaching Award

The Excellence in Teaching Awards Recognizes and rewards members of the instructional staff for outstanding accomplishments in teaching.  The awards are conferred upon professors who have demonstrated excellence in the classroom, encouraging and guiding students to work at the highest academic level.

Robert W. Van Houten Award for Teaching Excellence

The Robert Van Houten Award is conferred by the NJIT Alumni Association to recognize teaching excellence. Each year, NJIT Alumni, who have graduated within the previous five years, select a faculty member to receive the award. The Alumni Office distributes ballots to alumni.

Harlan J. Perlis Award

The Board of Overseers confers the Harlan J. Perlis Award for Research. Named for the late professor of  Electrical Engineering and outstanding researcher, the Perlis Award is presented to a faculty member at NJIT whose work advances the state-of-the-art and furthers scientific investigation.
